Some of our couples favorite photos are their detail photos. They’re timeless, eclectic, and fun! For us, they’re the way we ease in to the day, how we learn a little more about you, and how we see what’s important to you.

Believe it or not, your wedding details are the soul to your wedding day. Before the laughs, the neons on the dance floor, and the sunset couples portraits we get to look at grandmas ring she handed down to you, your late moms tennis bracelet you’ve been in love with since you were seven, and the other intricate details you spent months curating for your wedding day. We use all of those to create flat lays and detail photos that feel like your favorite pieces of your day all in one.

When we’re doing our month out call before your wedding, one of the questions I always get asked is, “What should I put in our details box?”. This answer is different for each couple and every wedding. My favorite response is always: If you spent money on it, someone gave it to you, or it’s something you’ve specifically gathered for your wedding day; put it in the box. But for the sake of this blog post, we’re going to get specific on what our couples are putting in their details box to give you ideas of what to grab.

Rings

Always start with your wedding rings & engagement ring. Those are the basis and bare minimum for each details suite.

Wedding Jewelry

The next thing to add is any additional Jewelry you have. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc. Add it all in.

Shoes

Include your shoes in your details box for both people. Often, your shoes are one of the most important choices you make on a wedding day.

Invites & Save The Dates

Including both your invites & save the dates for your details adds a fun pop of color, and some extra details to your flat lay.

Florals

Including any of your florals with your details adds an extra layer of personalization. Plus, your florist will always love you for doing that because it means you appreciate their work!

Vow Books & Personalized Letters

Talk about the sweetest addition to your detail photos! Vow books, personalized letters, or love notes add such a sweet touch to your flat lay.

Watches, Cufflinks, Tie Bars

I put these all in one category to include for mens & masculine details. Don’t forget to include any small details that you’re adding on to your suit. This includes Boutonnières, Cufflinks, Tie bars, Ties, bow ties, watches, and other accessories.
